About

I am Gulian José, a 27-year old man. I am a foreman at the petroleum facility near the capital Manati. Every day there I make sure that everything runs smoothly. I am 100% Luguan. I am married to my husband Lyon Gosto who is 28 years old. Together we live in a spacious tree-penthouse five minutes away from the Mhayladan monument. I met Lyon when he was a Guan, I helped him with his initiatives for nature so he raised his level and became a Luguan.

I attach great importance to nature and to everything that contributes positively to our country. My partner Lyon started a group to formulate advice for the leader Ryan to give every inhabitant of Lugua a roof over their heads. This is something that is very important to both of us. I am the leader of a group of 10 participants who all contribute to nature. Every week we think about new initiatives to recycle waste in a new way.

Goals and needs

Goals

Gulian hopes that one day everyone will incorporate the concept of Carpe Diem into their lives. Everyone should be able to get the most out of their lives in a positive way. Something everyone should strive for, Gulian thinks.

Needs

He loves happy people, people who enjoy life. He and his partner also get the most out of their lives. Every evening they end up with a good glass of wine, while enjoying the view from the tree-penthouse.

Gulian and his team hope to give every inhabitant of Lugua a roof over their heads. From poor to old, everyone deserves a good home.

A clean environment, where no one throws dirt on the ground and everyone recycles.

Day in the life of Gulian

06.00

Gulian arrives at his workplace, the Manati petroleum facility where he is a foreman. Before work really start, he will pray to ask guidance. Dancing to the anthem with his colleagues is a part of that.

11.00

He has a daily lunchmeeting with colleagues. He talks about how they can help improve the community at home. They create and discuss new and ongoing projects. After lunch they pray again.

16.00

Gulian goes back home after a day of work. Usually after work he spends time with family. But each friday they go to a celebration at the head-monastery. Food, drinks and tradition. It is a wonderful moment to be with family and friends, while practising his religion.

20.00

Every Monday evening and Friday evening the week starts and ends with practising the national sport Coco Shots. Coconuts are thrown over the farthest. The one who throws the furthest gets paid a bottle of champagne by the other participants. Other days he relaxes at home and prays.
